Start into a sustainable future

The company UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH is building its first solar systems on the roof of our factory in Sehmatal-Cranzahl in the Erzgebirge and on an open area at the factory in Chemnitz. By investing in solar energy, we will achieve a level of electricity self-sufficiency of around 30 percent at the Cranzahl site in the future. The solar system was built on our hall roof in a flat, east-west orientation. The existing shed roof and the snow load zone 3 in the upper Erzgebirge posed a particular challenge. UNGER - our contribution to the energy transition: Qcells 264 kWp solar system for a sustainable energy supply in the Ore Mountains has been installed

It's finally starting, our plants are getting photovoltaics to shape our future with more self-sufficiency and sustainability. Many of our customers value sustainability or the specific CO2 footprint of their products. UNGER has been using opportunities to increase energy efficiency for a long time, and the new systems are helping us to further strengthen this position. Big thanks to Jens-Uwe Fritsche CFO of UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH, who put a lot of passion, time and effort into this project - and was the competent internal project coordinator for the partners in the implementation as well as for our management at all times.

In Cranzahl, our plant manager Jörg Rechenberger is happy about the first "green electricity" from the new 264 kWp photovoltaic system, which from now on will flow into the machining and our special machine construction.

Turn of the year / closing time

The end of the year is approaching - time to look back. We look back on a successful year, despite old and new challenges. Only together can the tasks of our time be mastered and success achieved. It is therefore important to say a big thank you to all employees, customers and business partners for the good cooperation. We wish everyone, our customers, our suppliers, but especially our entire UNGER team, a peaceful Advent and Christmas season and a happy new year 2023.

Experience for cable assembly lines - live - in the “late shift” of 2022 in the Saxon part of the Ore Mountains

Like every year in September, UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH grants spectacular insights into its production processes during the “late shift”. Many people think a power cord only comes from China, or asia. The complete opposite is the real case. The globalization of the worldwide markets was a big challenge in the last 2 years. And our quantities are steadily increasing. Dishwashers, refrigerators, driller machines, e-heaters - up to the E - charging station for the e-car - UNGER components and services are hidden everywhere - sometimes visible, often invisible inside the appliance.

Of course we are proud of our products, which can be easily recognized by the "U with lightning bolt" logo.

Customer information

Please be informed that we are currently producing at all 3 plants (Sehmatal-Sehma, Cranzahl and Chemnitz). We are observing the economic developments regarding the corona virus critically and with high priority. We have already taken appropriate measures to ensure that we can continue to supply you on schedule. As far as we know today, we have no impact on products, goods, delivery dates and deliveries that originates from the influence of the corona virus. However, it is currently not foreseeable whether there will be restrictions on our production possibilities in the time to come. Within the scope of the material release, we have stocked up sufficiently with material for your existing orders and delivery schedules. We are working on minimizing the potential impact of Covid-19 on our customers’ supply chains and operations as much as possible. At this point in time, it is likely that further government instructions will follow to get the rapid spread of the virus under control. Despite all our efforts, it cannot be excluded that in the further course of events, official closures of our plants or those of our suppliers may occur, thus impairing the supply chains. In case our suppliers inform us about delivery bottlenecks or delivery failures, we will inform you as soon as possible. Please rest assured that our team will continue to closely monitor the situation and will keep you informed of the latest developments. We explicitly point out that our status is as of March 19, 2020.

Dirk Rosemann new in our Sales Team at UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH

Dirk Rosemann joined UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH as Sales Director on January 1, 2020. With his previous positions in technology and sales at leading manufacturers of hybrid components, primarily plugs and inserts, contact systems as well as precision turned and stamped parts in the product area of white goods / OEM and in areas of cable assembly, Powercords and automotive, Mr. Rosemann can offer our customers a wide range of experience and knowledge. As an innovative company, we will continue to expand nationally and internationally through our technological possibilities. Therefore we are very pleased, to competently reinforce the UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH with Dirk Rosemann and wish him all the best for his new tasks in the sales team.
